The Zlotowski Center for Neurosciences
The Zlotowski Center for Neurosciences utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to study central issues of brain research, including:
- Linguistics and cognitive psychology
- Neurobiology and physiology
- Electrical engineering and biomedical engineering
In addition, Ben-Gurion University in collaboration with Soroka University Medical Center, has recently established a Brain Imaging Interdisciplinary Research Center (BIIRC) to study both the normal and diseased brain.
Specific Research at the Zlotowski Center for Neurosciences is focused in the following areas:
ERP Laboratory for Development Studies
Researchers use the EEG-based evoked response potential method to study the development of attention and control and brain representation of numerosities. This provides insight into conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Cognitive Neuropsychology Laboratory
Researchers investigate the brain-behavior relationship by using brain activation and inactivation methodologies to study attention, word processing, number processing, synesthesia, learning disabilities and brain disorders.
